The Awards Season once again rewarded the best of both theatrical worlds, with the Tony Award rewarding Brits involved with The History Boys. In London the Olivier Award for Best Actor was split three ways, between the three boys playing the lead role in Billy Elliot which also took home the award for Best Show. Harry Connick Jnr opened the Tony Award Ceremony with a medley of songs and was then joined onstage by every one of the presenters, including Natasha Richardson. Performances came from LaChanze and the company of The Color Purple as well as Patti Lupone and cast of the revival of Sweeney Todd.
