2007 Awards
Spring Awakening was the big winner at the 2007 Tony Awards Ceremony, racking up 11 nominations and taking home 8 awards. The Coast of Utopia was nominated in 10 categories, winning 7 awards but Grey Gardens won only 3 from a possible 10 nominations. In London Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park With George won best Revival as well as awards for the two leads, paving the way from a successful run in New York. The Tony Awards had no host this year, instead the ceremony was emceed by the presenters, which included Angela Lansbury, Kevin Spacey and Christopher Plummer.
